What neighborhood, city or space affirms your Blackness?

Every breath I take affirms my blackness. I am also affirmed by my family and community

What do you want your legacy to be?

My actions are inspired by my grandfather and great grandfather, Powell S. Barnett and John Newington Conna. Both were Northwest Black Pioneers who blazed trails to improve their communities, and it is my goal to do the same.

Who do you think best embodies Black excellence?

I am inspired by countless design professionals such as Zena Howard, Rainy Hamilton Jr., Theaster Gates, and Liz Ogbu. All represent black excellence and motivate me to do more.
